About the GRE micro Soldering event: Every industry has it’s experts… why not show everyone you are the best microsolderer in the Phone Repair Industry by winning the Microsoldering Championship of the USA?!
The Microsoldering Champion competition will be held in the OCTAGON RING and judged by leaders in the repair space. The Grand Champion will have a special press release, a blog on our website and be awarded $3500 cash prize PLUS the Entry Fee Jackpot! Additionally, the Champion will receive a Title Belt (Just like boxing & MMA)! The Micro Soldering Champion will receive their title and should be prepared to defend it at each Gadget Repair Expo! 2026 Micro Soldering Registration
YOU MUST REGSITER ONLINE! NO REGISTRATION ON SITE IS PERMITED, 24 COMPETITORS MAX FOR THIS EVENT
About the competition:
The first round of the competition will challenge contestants to remove and replace a Tristar chip from an iPhone 5C onto an Apple iPad Air 1. Competitors will be judged on both speed and the successful completion of the repair. This portion of the competition will run from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Day 2: The two contestants with the fastest successful repair times from Day 1 will advance to the championship round. The finals will take place in the ring at 1:00 PM, where finalists will compete by replacing a charging port on an iPad Air 1.
You must attend both days.
Be sure to purchase a GRE ticket, this registration does not include a ticket.

Application process
Just complete the form at the end of this page and pay the $25 fee and you are approved to compete!
Requirements
- Yes, you need a ticket.
- Must be able to diagnose basic board issues and be able to do BGA work
- Must complete the form below
- On-site there will be elimination rounds, we will send applicant information within the next few weeks
- You do NOT need to bring anything with you, we supply all devices, tools and supplies.

Yes and prepare to arrive in the AM on Day 1. You will get an email leading up to the event with details.
You can bring your own supplemental small tools and supplies, yes but all finalists must use the provided championship station large equipment microscope
